Selina Robinson
Selina Robinson holds a master’s degree in counselling psychology and was a family therapist for over 25 years before entering politics in 2008, first as a city counsellor, then as a provincial member of the legislative assembly.
Selina has held several cabinet portfolios in British Columbia’s government including municipal affairs & housing, post-secondary education and finance.
After the terrorist attacks of October 7, 2023, and skyrocketing antisemitism worldwide, Robinson found herself targeted by anti-Israel activists.
After a webinar in early 2024, in which Robinson referred to the territory on which Israel was founded as “a crappy piece of land,” she became the centre of a political firestorm, in which activists and a group of Muslim clergy demanded her resignation. Within days Robinson was fired from BC’s cabinet. She wrote about her experience as a progressive Jew in government in Truth Be Told.
