Claire Frankel
Claire Frankel is the Deputy Campaign Director of Hatikvah Canada and a dedicated advocate for a pluralistic, democratic Jewish future. A recent graduate of McGill University with a degree in Political Science and History, Claire currently works as a campaign staffer for Member of Parliament Anthony Housefather. She brings to her role as a delegate a lifelong commitment to Jewish life, democratic values, and progressive Zionism.
Raised in Vancouver, Claire’s Jewish identity has always been central to her life. From summers at Jewish sleepaway camp to founding her synagogue’s youth group in high school, and later serving as President of NFTY’s Northwest Region, she has consistently stepped up to lead. At McGill, she held executive roles in Hillel, JQueer, Nazun, and Democrats Abroad. She now serves as Vice President External of the Canadian Union of Jewish Students (CUJS), where she advocates for Jewish university students across the country, working with government officials, university administrations, and community organizations.
Claire’s leadership spans local, national, and international arenas. She successfully advocated for Jewish student representation at the 2025 Canadian National Forum on Combatting Antisemitism and spoke at the 2024 Canadian National Press Conference on campus antisemitism. As a former World Jewish Congress Lauder Fellow and current member of the Jewish Diplomatic Corps, she has participated in global summits, consulted on antisemitism policy, and engaged with senior officials at institutions like the UN Human Rights Council and the Red Cross in Geneva.
Claire believes that loving Israel means holding it to its highest ideals. She is committed to building an Israel that lives up to the vision set out in its Declaration of Independence: A Jewish and democratic state rooted in liberty, justice, and peace.
