Bryan Krafchik

Bryan Krafchik is a Canadian Jewish entrepreneur and former cultural anthropologist. He is the founder of Loot Toy Co., a Vancouver-based small company specializing in skin-friendly, eco-conscious bath products for children, a company inspired by his son’s struggle with eczema. Loot is carried by over 600 retailers in North America.

Born and raised in South Africa, Bryan was an Anti-Apartheid activist and a member of the Jewish Conscientious Objectors group from 1988 until Apartheid’s demise in 1993-4.

Bryan’s activism led to his interest in cultural anthropology, and he worked for the flagship South African Museum, organising post-Apartheid public cultural initiatives in pursuit of a collective, national identity.

Before moving to Canada, Bryan and his wife Peta, lived in Israel, followed by 12 years in London (UK) where he participated in progressive Jewish and inter-faith initiatives.  He and Peta have two children, Jamie & Elijah.
